guess what?

I'm starting the 31 day challenge... Again!
Yes, I (almost) did it last year and I'm absolutely ready to try again.
Starting tomorrow I'm going to do each and every challenge all over again. Who knows? It might turn out to be my annual challenge :)
I was thinking about it for a while and initially I wanted to start in October, but Rebecca mentioned in her recent post that she was going to start it again tomorrow and I figured that it might be a good idea to start, too. Some of the nails polishes I use might be repeated, but I'll try to use as much of my newer polishes as possible. That's all I have to say for now. You can check out all of the challenges on the photo below.

Will some of you be joining me?
Thanks for reading & see you tomorrow!

rimmel london aye, aye sailor

Hey everyone!
Sorry for being absent again. I didn't have much time to blog and I was on a weekend away, but I've got lots of time now and hopefully I'll make up for it :) I'll be posting a bunch of swatches these days as I've bought quite a lot of new polishes, but I think that I'll manage to put some manicures as well :)

Not so long ago, I showed you Rimmel London's Deliciously Dark and today I'm going to show you the polish that I bought along that one - Rimmel London Aye, Aye Sailor. The name pretty much gives it up :) It's a very deep navy blue with a jelly-like consistency, but it's not sheer at all. In fact, one coat will give you satisfying coverage, but as always I used 2 for the swatches.

It's incredibly shiny by itself. I absolutely love this shade and I'll be wearing it a lot! Another thing that will make you happy is that it doesn't stain. Putting the words "navy blue" and "doesn't stain" in the same sentence doesn't occur very often. But, be careful. Don't use without base coat if your nails are prone to staining.

mint lightning

Hello everyone!
A quick announcement, if you will. I reached 100 followers (and currently have 101)!
This day couldn't get better.
I'm even 100 views away from having 30 000 views on my blog!
Thank you for your support throughout the past year of blogging!
I hope that this blog will last for even more years to come.

What I have for you today is another stamping manicure made with the new Bundle Monster stamping plates. You must know by now that I absolutely adore everything mint, so yeah it was time for a mint on mint manicure.

Lovely, isn't it? I used Classics Glamour 211 as a base and Avon Peppermint Leaf for the stamping. I used plate BM-305. I stamped on the thumb as well, but I'm not used to photographing all of my nails, so I left it as it was. I have a serious problem considering my cuticles. Nothing seems to help them with moisturizing. I might consider a polish remover change, it might be the problem.

delicate floral

Hello everyone!
Last time I posted, I showed you my new Essence Colour3 duo which was so damn amazing that I decided to wear it as a full manicure. I already said how much I liked the base color - Boys Are Back In Town and of course it was the base color that I chose for this stamping manicure.

I knew that it would look beautiful with some white and delicate stamp on top, so I chose this floral image from the plate BM-306.

This was a fairly short post :)

essence colour3 boys are back in town

Do you know that feeling when you really want a bunch of nail polishes, but you can only afford one or two?
That happened a while ago when I purchased the two duos from Essence - Ticket To The Show and Midnight Date. I kept reassuring myself that I didn't need another one of them, as they are quite expensive for the amount of polish you get, but I just couldn't get this beauty out of my head.
Not so long after, I bought it as well.

The first part of the duo is Boys Are Back In Town. It's a very dusty, muted shade of lavender. Its opaqueness is great. I needed only one coat to achieve the look on the photos below. I love this polish and I can see myself wearing it when the colder days come by.

The second part a.k.a. the part that's meant to be layered is called It's Just A Little Crush. It's a shimmery topper, consisted of very smooth and fine multichromatic shimmer. One coat for the swatch, over Boys Are Back In Town.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

purple gradient

Hello everyone!
I finally had the time to try out the new Bundle Monster plates that I got 3 or 4 days ago. I was really excited to get these and right now it's my favorite set out of all.
I was very excited to try the gradient image from BM-301, because if you've tried sponging gradients, you know how messy it can get.

The shape of my nails is not the most appropriate for this design. As you can see, on the pinky and middle finger, the design didn't transfer around the cuticle, but when I stamped in the other direction it turned out way better.

I like to make my gradients in a 1:1 ratio when I do them with only two colors, but the design is really large, so it turned out a bit different. I like it, though :)
If you look at it from a close distance, you'll probably notice that it's not as smooth as a gradient done with a sponge, but I'm talking about very, very close.

I used Avon Loving Lavender as a base and stamped with Essence True Love from the Vampire's Love collection.

bundle monster 2012 set

Well, what a nice way to start the day :)
The postman woke me up really early today, but it was totally worth it as I got the new Bundle Monster stamping plates set. Luckily for me, there was no problem with the plates (as in duplicates or a missing plate). I still haven't done any manicure with them, but I promise to do that soon enough.
I'm taking a short break from blogging right now and after this Saturday you can expect a lot of posts. I'll probably even post every day.

By the way, I changed my blog's appearance again. I adore this template, but there are some minor issues that I'm going to fix as soon as possible, but I suppose it's fine for now :)
Have a nice day!

rimmel deliciously dark & some stamping

Hello everyone!
Not so long ago, I purchased two shades from Rimmel London and today I'm going to show you one of them.

Rimmel Deliciously Dark is a very dark, almost black, purple creme. It comes from the "60 Seconds" line, so it's unnecessary to say that it dries fast. It says on the label that it's opaque in only one coat. That's true, but I added 2 coats for the swatch. I absolutely adore this polish. The brush is quite wide and it's perfect for the shape of my nails. The photos below are with no clean up at all! I've never achieved a line so smooth before. I'm truly amazed!

It's very shiny on its own, as you can notice on the photo below.

You can't really see the true color until you put it under direct sunlight. Here's how that looks.

I decided to add some golden roses on top using a fake Konad plate from BornPrettyStore - m65. The gold goes perfectly with this shade :)

deborah milano carpe diem

Hello everyone! :)
Today I'm going to show you another polish by Deborah Milano that I picked up the other day.

Carpe Diem is a multichromatic polish that shows a dark purple the most, followed by a flash of dark green and just a bit of dark blue. The colors and the transition between them is really beautiful, but when it comes to the application I'm very disappointed. To start off, the brush was crooked (though this wasn't the case with the other Deborah Milano polishes). The polish itself had a weird consistency and it was very tricky to apply. I somehow managed to paint the nails, but I had polish all over my cuticles. The clean-up was a mess!  I could barely take off the unneeded polish. The swatches show 2 coats of polish.

I tried to capture it from as many angles as possible, but I think that the photo below shows the polish as it truly looks like IRL.

stamped ombre

Hey everyone!
What I have for you today is a green ombre manicure that I did two days ago.
I wanted to do it with original polishes only, instead of using just one polish and brightening it with drops of white polish. I thought that I had only 4 matching shades and that's the reason why my thumb is white, but it wasn't until I took the photos that I remembered that I had a fifth shade.

Please excuse the poor stamping quality, but whenever I do something at night, without proper lighting, it must have a mistake somewhere :) I used the full nail star design from plate BM20. It's funny that the ring finger looks darker than the pinky, but it's the other way around IRL.

This was a short one. I'm sorry I couldn't post something more spectacular for my blog's first birthday, but 5 days ago I spiked a fever and I'm still under the weather. The worst thing is that the temperature outside gets up to 40°C and believe me, it's really hard to lower your body temperature during hot summer days.

Well, I won't bother you with my minor health issues. I hope you all have a great day!

first blogoversary

I can't believe that a year has passed since I started this blog :)
I don't really have much to say right now, just wanted to let you know about it.
I'm going to have a giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that :)
