january challenge: silver

Hey everyone!
Today is the last day of the January Challenge and the theme is Silver. I did use silver as an accent color instead of using it as a main color for my manicure. I wanted to do a "faux watermarble" using the advanced stamping technique, but it smudged just a bit.

Used products:
• Rimmel London Pompous (purple)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 60 (black)
• Flormar 112 (silver)
• Sprint 21 stamping plate

I had so much fun doing this challenge and I can't wait to start another one :)

empties #9

Hey everyone!
I haven't done an Empties post in a while and that's because I've been trying to "collect" as much products as I can and then do a couple of Empties posts.

Blackberries Hand Cream by Yves Rocher

This hand cream is what dreams are made of! First of all, it smells delightful and so fresh and yummy. The formula is my new favorite. I thought I liked thick hand creams until I witnessed the beauty of Yves Rocher's hand creams :) It's runnier than usual, but that makes it so much easier to get absorbed into the skin. It leaves your soft and moisturized without making you incapable of handling just about anything in the following 30 minutes. I love it! :)

Turkish Thermal Purifying Black Soap by Planet Spa (Avon)

I was very intrigued when I bought this product, simply because I haven't used a black soap before. I found it really fun actually, the way it turned everything a dark greyish color. I didn't use it by itself because it made my skin a bit dry. I used it before I applied shower gel and since it contains tiny little grains it doubled as a peeling, which I loved. I used it on my face whenever I had breakouts and it really helped, at least for me.

Spiced Orange & Ginger Body Lotion by Avon Naturals

This body lotion smelled amazing, but I rarely use up body lotions, simply because I'm too lazy to apply them regularly. There isn't anything special to be said about its formula, because it's your regular ol' body lotion. I will admit that I mixed it with a bit of sugar and made myself a DIY body scrub :)

Spiced Orange & Ginger Body Spray by Avon Natural

Unlike most of Avon's body sprays that you can pretty much wear throughout the year, this one felt a bit too wintery to wear in the spring or summer, so I've had it for a year now and I finally used it up. Lovely and fresh smell. I sometimes sprayed it on my pillow and it made me so cozy during the night :)

Instant Repair Conditioner by Advance Techniques (Avon)

My hair isn't too damaged (even though I haven't had a haircut in a while, yikes!), but I still picked this conditioner and I think that it was right for me. I used a pea sized amount and it still made my hair grease up really quickly. It made it soft and lovely, but I'm not going to wash my hair every day because of a heavy conditioner... And for some reason, this is one of the conditioners that makes my hair shed (is this even the right word?) faster. I mean, it's not falling off, but whenever I comb it after washing it, I end up with a ball of hair in my hands.

january challenge: match ootd

Hey everyone!
Two more themes and the challenge is done and today's theme is Match OOTD. I rarely match my nails to my outfit, simply because I'm pretty much always on the run and I don't even have the time to plan my outfit, yet alone do my nail beforehand. With that said, I do not guarantee that I will wear this outfit to uni today :)

I based this mani on one of my favorite winter sweaters.

Used products:
• Aura Look Into His Eyes (pink)
• Amy's Cosmetics 8 (nude)

january challenge: studs

Hey everyone!
Today's theme is Studs. As much as I love how studs look, I don't wear them often because I absolutely hate it when I lose them. I haven't worn a manicure this pink in a while.

Used products:
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Sinful Colors Dream On (pink)
• Kleancolor Born To The Purple (large glitter)
• Aura She Bunny 519 (small glitter)
• Bundle Monster BM-423 stamping plate

january challenge: favorite design

Hey everyone!
Today's theme was Favorite Design. I was a bit confused about the theme, so I decided to interpret it my way. I recreated my own manicure from two months ago that I did in purple. This time I used the same stamping plate, but went for a more natural feel.

Used products:
• Catrice Greige The New Beige (base)
• Golden Rose Rich Color 25 (stamping)
• Spring 10 (stamping plate)
• Golden Rose Matte Top Coat

I love how it turned out, but I still like the purple version better.

january challenge: favorite color

Hey everyone!
Today's theme is Favorite Color and without a doubt I chose purple. But, me being me, I couldn't just use one purple, so I created an ombre using 5 of my favorite purple nail polishes.

Used products:
• OPI You're Such A Budapest (thumb)
• Avon Loving Lavender (index)
• Essence Boys Are Back In Town (middle)
• Avon Smoky Plumes (ring)
• Golden Rose Rich Color 44 (pinky)

january challenge: gradient

Hey everyone!
Today's theme for the challenge was Gradient. I had though of this manicure a while ago and to be honest I don't really mind wearing summer themed manicures in the middle of winter.

Used products:
• Rimmel London Aye, Aye Sailor (deep blue)
• Flormar Supershine Miracle Colors U08 (duochrome)
• Essence Miss Universe (duochrome)
• Aura She Bunny 124 (duochrome)
• BK 16 (white, stamping)
• BM-406 stamping plate from Bundle Monster

This is what the base looked like before I added the decoration. So pretty and sparkly *.*

The sea shell studs were sent to me for review. They come in two colors, silver and gold, and two sizes, 3 and 5 mm. They seem to be very high quality and are very detailed. What I love about them is that they aren't overwhelming. They lay flat on the nail, so that way nothing can get stuck on them, especially your hair. I secured them with a dot of nail glue, because I wanted them to last longer, but top coat will do just fine. You will get around 20 pieces for $2.78.

BornPrettyStore created their own stamping plates not too long ago and I was lucky enough to grab some of them in their holiday sales. BP-10 has one huge swirly and very detailed image and five smaller ones and it is sea themed. The details on this plate are gorgeous as you can see from the picture below.

This is what the entire stamping plate looks like.

january challenge: new technique

Hey everyone!
I can't believe it's already the middle of January and half of the challenge done.
Today's theme is New Technique. Like I mentioned before, I'm obsessed with the "advanced stamping technique", so I try to use it whenever possible. More importantly, I was so excited about using these decals I got from BornPrettyStore.

Used products:
• Golden Rose Rich Color 44 (teal)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Golden Rose Matte 12 (black)
• Sinful Colors Green Ocean (glitter on middle finger)
• Maybelline Green Park (mint on middle finger)
Water Decals by BornPretty

Water decals are a great way to create lovely designs even if you are a beginner. BPS sent me these decals for review and here's my opinion about them. What I love is that the sheet of decals has tons of images and they come in pairs so you can match your other hand. They are very easy to apply, very high quality and don't show on the nail - especially after top coat. There is a great variety of sizes - from the tiniest to larger images, so they will suit just about any nail length. Overall, I am very satisfied with their quality and considering their price as well I would definitely recommend them.
You can check them out at the following  link: Water Decals by BornPretty ($1.99).

review: aura absolute matte

Hey everyone!
Not too long ago, I found out about Aura's new Absolute Matte Lip Creams. I'm a sucker for true matte lip products and I must admit that I was a bit skeptical when I got them.  My biggest concern was them being very lip gloss-like and having a sticky texture, because that's the only reason why I hate using lip gloss.

The collection has a total of 13 shades and in my opinion, the colors are pretty similar and that's why I decided to get only two - 602 Ring a Bell and 611 Time For Selfie.

Ring a Bell is a vintage rose shade. I don't know why, but when I was buying it, it seemed more nude-ish, but I guess I was comparing it to the other pink shades in the collection which are way bolder than this one. It's a bit shear, meaning that you have to add another layer or two after the first one dries. It's not my favorite because sank into all of my lip lines and made them more prominent. Nonetheless, it's a very cute spring/summer shade.

Time for Selfie is a muted raspberry shade. This was the first lip cream that I got and it impressed me a lot. It's really opaque, but that causes a bit of staining. That means that application can be a bit hard, because if you mess up, you only have a few moments until the product dries and stains your skin. I feel that this one has a better formula than Ring a Bell, so that might mean that the other shades in the collection are different, too.

They have a normal-sized wand, which is a bit slanted. It can hold enough product for the whole lips.

Quick swatch on my arm.

Overall, the both of the lip creams dried matte, just like the packaging suggests. They dry really quickly, so you don't have a lot of time to really perfect the lines, but with a bit of practice you'll get the hang of it. I've only tested Time for Selfie to see how long it will stay and it lasted more than 6 hours. They don't transfer on glasses, but eating will make it last less, naturally. After a while, they do dry out a bit, but I don't find it too annoying, though if you are used to having moisturized lips all the time, this will probably be a problem for you.

Pros:
• Dries matte.
• Longlasting (+6 hours).
• Quick drying time.
• Average price (290 MKD/ $5.8 / 4.7€).

Cons:
• Unconsistent formula between shades.
• Dries up after some time - may be uncomfortable for some.
• I wrote it in the pros, but it belongs here, too. The drying time may be too fast if you are not used to applying lip products fast.
• Might stain your lips and/or surrounding skin.

january challenge: re-creation

Hey everyone!
I'm still running a bit late on the January challenge, hopefully I'll make it on time for the following day. The theme was Re-Creation.
I decided to recreate Sarah's (Chalkboard Nails) manicure. She did her manicure with nail decals and since I didn't have them, I tried to recreate it using nail polish and tools.

Used products:
• Golden Rose Matte Satin 02 (nude)
• Essence Black Is Back (black)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 69 (gold)
• Miss Selene 171 (gold glitter)
• Black and gold striping tape

january challenge: animal

Hey everyone!
I'm posting a bit late since I wrote the wrong date in my planner, but nonetheless here I am with the third theme of the January challenge which was Animal.

I haven't done leopard print in a while, so I figured why not.

I applied a white base and dabbed random dots of foil glue. After it became transparent, I used a metallic blue foil to create the dots of the print and outlined them with black acrylic paint. I did the mani in a hurry and it ended up being a bit messy, but I enjoyed it quite a bit :)

Used products:
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Blue metallic foil
• Black acrylic paint

january challenge: sparkles

Hey everyone!
It's time for the second theme of my January Challenge and today's theme is Sparkles.
I'm a really big fan of glitter and rhinestones, but today I just wanted to go with a subtle version of sparkles (if it's possible to say that).

I had a polish that BornPrettyStore sent me for review and I've been dying to use it. Born Pretty Holo 9 is a lavender holographic nail polish. I already have one of Born Pretty's holographic polishes and they are amazing. This one is a bit on the sheer side, but you can actually get away with 2 coats, if you don't mind the slightly visible nail line. If you do, it's great for layering over a similar base.
The price to amount ratio is a bit off, I will admit. But, for me, the beauty of the polish really makes up for the fact that it's a bit pricey.

You can get it yourself on the following link: BornPretty Holo 9 ($12.88 for 6ml).

For this manicure I used the following products:
BornPretty Holo 9 (holographic lavender)
• Golden Rose Color Expert 02 (white)
• Golden Rose Matte 12 (black)
• Flormar 112 (silver)
BornPretty Stamping Plate L002
• Caviar beads

Here's a flash photo to see the holographic-ness of the polish :)

And a shot in the sun, which was barely visible today.

Considering the stamping plate, I love the fact that it has a variety of designs you can choose from. I'm really into the advanced stamping, where you stamp and fill in the lines, and this stamping plate gives you the opportunity to do that. The lines come up very clean. The lines aren't too thin, but not to thick either. In my opinion, it works best for medium to long sized nails, as the designs are quite large.
You can check it out on the following link: BornPretty Stamping Plate L002 ($5.99)

One of the products in this post was sponsored by BornPrettyStore, while the other was purchased by myself. However, my opinion is always 100% honest.

january challenge: fresh

Hey everyone!
First of all, I want to wish you a Happy New Year.
Hopefully, this year won't be as busy as the last one and I'll be able to keep up with my blog :)

I wanted to start this year with a challenge. You can see all of the themes below.
Today's theme is Fresh. Instead of doing something very literal, I decided to create a "fresh" manicure in a way that it will be very modern and edgy. My design was inspired by one of my all time favorite nail artist, kirakiranail, so be sure to check her out if you don't already know her.

Used products:
• Divine Lux 229 (teal)
• Golden Rose Expert Colors 69 (gold)
